Energy Minders Consulting is an engineering consultancy that provides an environmental sustainable design (ESD) service to the building industry.
Established in 1999 by Swiss Environmental Engineering Technologist Roger Minder, it is one of the earliest building sustainability consultancies of its kind in Australia. We now also operate in New Zealand.
The consultancies initial aim was to provide a much needed
service to improve the poor thermal performance of new and existing
residential buildings. This was addressed by introducing and integrating
effective low cost design solutions such as orientation, insulation,
thermal mass material, glazing, shading and natural ventilation options.
Performance was evaluated and verified using computer modeling
technology.
The consultancy has since grown to provide a large range of ESD
services ranging from concept design to compliance certification and is
working closely with design teams, building owners and construction
firms on a
wide range of building projects ranging from single dwelling to large
precinct development such as the Frasers Broadway project on the old
Carlton Brewery in Sydney.
Director Roger Minder has unique experience with refurbishments of existing buildings having coordinated the Green Star process for the first existing Australian building to achieve a 6 Star Green Star rating (World Leader Status). The building was subsequently awarded the 2010 Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Award.
Energy Minders Consulting is a leading and innovative ESD consultancy that aims to provide quality service and lasting value to its customers. We provide professional services that are recognised, insured and accredited by the ‘Association of Building Sustainability Assessors’ (ABSA) and the ‘Green Building Council of Australia’ (GBCA). We are currently expanding our operation to provide the same services in New Zealand.
